AMP for Gmail – Google has finally rolled out the much-awaited accelerated mobile page (AMP) email feature for Gmail. This is amazing news to affiliates because AMP helps to enhance creativity in communication with target audiences.

The new changes make it easy to personalize communication which will go a long way to strengthening how you relate with your audience. And this is not all! We will tell you about the additional problems that the new Gmail update solves and how to get more from it.

On 21st November 2019, Google rolled out the new update that seeks to allow you to send dynamic emails. But the update, which works in both Android and iOS devices, can be traced back to July 2019 when the dynamic email in Beta was launched. Like we experienced in the beta version, the new update adds impressive capabilities that allow you to interact with emails as if they are dynamic pages without having to open an external browser. This means that your Gmail operates like a mini-page.

How to test your AMP emails in Gmail?

How to test your AMP emails in Gmail

To use the AMP emails, the first step is to sign up and agree with the guidelines that include the following among other things:

  • Use Gmail’s AMP for Email Playground to draft AMP emails, have a live preview and conjointly sent email to your own Gmail account for testing
  • Navigate to Gmail Settings > General > Dynamic email and click on Developer settings. This opens a dialog where you’ll be able to whitelist an email address that can send you dynamic emails for testing purposes. The AMP version of emails sent from the listed address to your account is rendered, although the email address isn’t registered with Google. This allows you to check your dynamic emails on your own accounts before registering to ensure they are working evidently.
  • Sending a production-quality email.
  • Authenticating emails using DKIM, SPF, and DMARC for better security.
  • Review the AMP for email best practices.

And it is not just Google that is rushing to offer AMP emails. In September 2019, Microsoft indicated it is working on own AMP features.

Why Does the Update Matter to You?

Since the new update allows you to use real-time details in the body of emails you send, it implies the risk of content getting outdated before the reader getting it is eliminated. Instead, you are assured of delivering value to your readers whether they read right away or 12 hours later.

Being able to generate dynamic emails is very important for personalization. For example, is using the recipients’ names in the emails you sent not amazing? Besides, you will also enjoy using mailing merger reports that have been demonstrated to have a high potential of growing open rates by up to 55%.

Why Affiliates Will Benefit More from the Update

Since July when the beta version of the dynamic email was released, it became clear that affiliates had more to benefit because of the enhanced interactivity. We are going to demonstrate this using sports affiliate operations.

Recently, the Sportsradar survey found that 88% of marketers believe interactive content would help them to be more conspicuous. On the same line, an affiliate could consider showing the target audience things such as upcoming events, odds, and results from recent games. Take your creativity a notch higher and consider enabling your target audience to place bets directly via a message interface. This can be a great way to enhance your audience’s user experience and make them to eagerly wait for the latter emails.

With the dynamic email, your interaction does not have to stop at placing bets. Go ahead and provide key statistics, player & match analysis and live scores to your audience via their mobile devices. This will be very helpful especially for your target audience on the go to increase reach and engagement rates.

The Final Take

Google’s AMP updates have boosted email marketing in a great way. The new update has opened amazing opportunities to craft better relationships with your target audience, enhance open rates, and grow the mailing list.
